Prior to joining Inserm Transfert in 2009 as Director of Scientific Affairs then Director of the Evaluation, Proof of Concept, Development Department, in charge of scouting and maturation, Jean-Michel Gauthier spent over 15 years in drug discovery for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. As CSO in charge of R&D, Jean-Michel co-founded in 2003 Anaconda Pharma, today sold to an american company. Before that, he worked for three years at Hybrigenics as Head of Target validation. Earlier, he left INRA, an academic institution where he held a tenure position, to work from 1995 to 2000 at Glaxo on a drug discovery program on TGFβ and liver fibrosis that he initiated and co-directed.
Jean-Michel has an engineer’s diploma from the Institut National Agronomique-Paris Grignon and a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genetics. He made his thesis at the Pasteur Institute (Paris) and his Post-Doc at the NIH (Bethesda). He is the author of over 25 scientific papers, reviews and patents. He is the inventor of a molecule currently tested in Phase II clinical trials.
